Registered nurse - oncology
We investigate, treat and care for patients with some form of malignant tumor disease, but also patients who do not have cancer, ie benign conditions in areas such as urology, endocrinology, hematology and coagulation.
The hospital section for Cancer care works actively to take responsibility for the patient throughout the entire care chain together with other parts of healthcare.
Job offer
Working as a nurse at the Karolinska University Hospital means that you are part of a multi professional team consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, medical doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and dieticians. As a nurse you are responsible for 5-6 patients together with an assistant nurse.
Working hours
Days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Full time position. As a registered nurse you work 38,25 hours per week.
Our wards currently looking for staff
Department of Pelvic Oncology (3 positions):We care for patients with urological tumor diseases, cancer of the stomach and intestines and gynecological cancer. We work with inpatient care for patients treated with certain types of chemotherapy and radiation treatment that cannot be given in outpatient care as well as for infections, nutritional difficulties and pain relief.
Liver medicine surgery (3 positions): Highly specialized inpatient ward for surgical patients with tumors or metastases in the liver, as well as medical patients with liver disease. We care for both elective and emergency patients pre- and postoperatively.
Esophageal stomach (3 positions): Highly specialized inpatient ward for patients with diseases of the esophagus & stomach. We care for both elective and emergency patients pre- and postoperatively.
Pancreas (3 positions): Highly specialized inpatient ward for patients with diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts. We care for both elective and emergency patients pre- and postoperatively.
Requirements
- EU registered nurse.
- Newly graduated as well as experienced nurses are welcome to apply.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft office.
- Language skills
- English, minimum level B2
- Swedish (minimum level B2 upon start on commencement day). Level C1 required in order to receive Swedish license to work as nurse.

Salary
The starting salary for a newly graduated nurse is 28 000 SEK monthly. Salary is individually set depending on your qualifications and experience.
All contracts follow local and national collective agreements.
