An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Controller to join the Wärtsilä Business Control Centre (WBCC). Wärtsilä Business Control Centre is a virtual organisation whose primary responsibility is operative controlling across all revenue streams and product lines within Wartsila. The WBCC working environment is internationally orientated. Projects, production locations, Wärtsilä offices and suppliers can be found all over the world. Many different nationalities, languages and cultures are involved. We are now looking for a controller to join us, who will be responsible for operative project controlling utilizing Wärtsilä processes and tools as well as assisting the business in achieving it's goals.



This is a temporary position for 9 months. Its primary location is Vaasa, Finland and other BCC locations such as Finland (Helsinki) can be considered as well.



What will you be doing:

• As a Controller, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
• Supporting and communicating with the WBCC Business team and other relevant stakeholders.
• Managing and analysing the data quality in the project revenue stream to ensure the correct financial reporting.
• Perform financial analysis of projects and highlights and risks.
• Monitor orderbook quality and billing due list.
• Provide feedback to the project organisation with regards to processes and ways of working.
• Perform period end closing tasks working closely with the local team and wider organisation.
• Actively challenge convention where there could be a need to improve processes.
  
   

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• B.Sc or M.Sc. Degree, preferably in Finance and Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• Good financial knowledge, reporting and analysing skills.
• Excellent SAP skills, especially in FICO.
• Good skills in other reporting tools such as Qlikview.
• Good knowledge of project processes is an advantage.
• Understanding of business and system integration.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a virtual team and be able to confidently communicate across teams.
• Be able to explain complex issues to all stakeholders.
• Good understanding of what drives the key processes within projects controlling.
• Forward thinker who isn't afraid to challenge and has progressive attitude towards tasks and goals.
• Excellent skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in finance and control function previously.
