You will be part of the Well Control Equipment TA & Governance section, responsible for all well control equipment fleet wide. This includes well control equipment specification, development and audit of maintenance plans and documentation. The section supports new building and modification projects managed by the Technical Organisation. The section also handles smaller projects on the rigs in operation and provides operational support for electrical well control equipment. As Well Control Equipment Mechanical Superintendent you will be the driving force for improvement and change in the way the company manages well control equipment. You will be working in support of assets around the world, manage your own projects in close corporation with the rest of the section and also participate as project team member on larger projects. Key Responsibilities As our new Superintendent, you will be a proactive and visible force to improve the way we manage and maintain well control equipment. Overall, you ensure well control equipment is operated correctly fleet wide. In doing so you participate in risk assessments and investigations, conduct audits of routines and evaluation of Equipment Failure reports, and recommend preventive measures to prevent failures. You also make sure that a certification management system exists for well control equipment, just as you ensure that relevant manuals and databases are updated so improvements, repairs and other work are documented and lessons learned are stored. At times you will be participating in yardstay and upgrade projects, e.g. to perform above mentioned duties or to ensure implementation of operational and maintenance improvements in all matters within your area. An important aspect of your position will be to promote concepts and techniques for use in operations, supervise and mentor teams assisting with trouble shooting and repairs, and in general provide expertise on maintenance and recertification work. This also puts you in a position where you will be involved in competency mapping of rig personnel, recommending technical training and participating in training initiatives, courses and seminars. Who we are looking for You are educated in Engineering, preferably with a bachelor degree as a minimum. You have a background as Subsea Engineer or have similar experience gained through assignments within the industry. Key to the position will be your ability to build strong relations to regional Subsea / BOP Superintendents and Rig Teams and liase with various departments in Maersk Drilling. You are strong decision maker, essentially being able to ensure that in all matters economic and business like assessment are made prior to decision so that operations are executed with the utmost efficiency.
