Your responsibilities as a Java Developer You will be part of a team that supports the manufacturing activities within the compressor department and that is responsible for the successful rollout of the new manufacturing operations systems. As an experienced Java Developer you will guarantee the implementation of the Java SE-platform for the Airpower department. The platform verifies the compressor manufacturing activities and manages the production equipment. In your position you’ll have to wear three hats: the one of Project Engineer who is responsible for the build, implementation and aftercare of the operational Java-platform, the one of Support Responsible after the implementation and last but not least the one of Java SE Expert. Challenges as a Project Engineer As an experienced Java SE Engineer you will be responsible for the entire build of the Java system within the department MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management). Design, development, validation, implementation and aftercare: you will provide the required technical and architectural documentation of every step. You report on your project activities to the Lead Project Leader. Challenges as Support Responsible After project go-live, you will take the role of Java Support Responsible within MOM. Your main challenge: improving the client satisfaction by providing quality support for which you determine minimum levels of quality and support. If required, you will define action points to improve those levels. Challenges as Java SE expert With your solid experience, you develop Java coding standards and best practices. In first place for MOM, but later on also for future Java systems who are managed by CT-IS (Compressor Technique - Information Services). As Java expert you will often work with following technologies: ❖ IntelliJ IDE with Java 7 or 8 ❖ XML parsing (eg. JAXB) ❖ Swing UI & Jgoodies ❖ SQL server ❖ JDBC

What does your Java DNA look like?

With your solution-oriented brain you are capable of understanding the needs of the business. Even more: you question them, translate them into technical specifications soliciting on your analytical skills. In addition, you can rely on at least five years of relevant experience within Java SE.

For this responsible position you not only need experience as a Java SE software Engineer, you also need to complete a Java expert training which will certify you as MOMS administrator. You make sure the Java systems are in line with Windows and other Java roadmaps.

Furthermore, passion, drive, customer-oriented and proactive reasoning are in your DNA. Your work systematically and accurate and as a true team player who has excellent communication abilities, you are happy to share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team. That’s how you easily integrate within the existing team. You are willing to work outside the office hours due to deadlines.
