Copenhagen Local / International Geoscience Ref.: MO-057931 Your job is to lead a team of geoscientists who specializes in sedimentology, stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy, petroleum systems modelling, geochemistry, structural geology and petrophysiscs, ensuring that they add value by providing fit for purpose expert technical input for a wide range of international exploration and development projects. On a daily basis the geoscience team lead will assist project managers to resource their projects with the relevant specialist assistance. We Offer Leading the Geoscience Technology team will offer exposure to a large range of challenges, from working with technical evaluations in multidisciplinary project teams, prioritization of technical specialist manpower, managing and influencing people and an opportunity to identify technology trends re-shaping the industry. Key Responsibilities You will ensure that knowledge within defined competence areas are developed and managed to utilize the highest value to Maersk Oil, and seek to establish new competence areas as Maersk Oils position and the industry changes. Together with our corporate Technology and Innovation department and business units you will be involved in scanning the industry for technologies and skills that can be adapted to enhance our ability to properly characterize exploration plays and prospects or improve the ability to identify new ones. The geoscience manager also plays a leading role in hiring of Interns and MITAS candidates to the department and manages their transition to their new jobs. Who we are looking for The ideal candidate possesses the ability to understand a large portfolio of projects and to allocate geoscience manpower resources to where they add most value: • Strong geoscientist with emphasis of the understanding of how the different disciplines fit together. • Experience with putting a regional geological overview together. • Experience with fundamental prospect evaluation methodologies and workflows. • A natural networker, both internally and externally • Ability to balance and resolve conflicting priorities that adds most value to the business • Essential competencies for the role are: exploration background with hands-on experience and successful participation in planning and execution of work programs and delivery of discoveries combined with experience from development planning. Experience should have been acquired in multiple basins and plays. • Highly effective interpersonal skills and cultural awareness are essential, with strong communication skills. Needs to be able to influence without authority.
