Within the Sector Development & Engineering DE is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of integrated solutions that meet business requirements and the sector specifies trade-offs across sectors.
The department DE EUV Sources and Conditioning supplies resources, means and methods, and technology to deliver the specification, design, integration and validation of (sub) systems and the development of new competencies for EUV Sources.
 
Job Mission
As an Design Engineer in the EUV Sources & Conditioning Development department you will be a key player in a very fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Primarily you will be involved in the realization of one or more optical modules. In this process you can be involved in conducting feasibility studies, followed by specification and design and ending with realization and integration. During all these intermediate steps you will be cooperating with other disciplines and suppliers where it is expected that you will attend several meetings to discuss design aspects, analyze system problems, and support and plan issue resolution with peers. You will be able to present your findings and your results to management. Finally you get the chance and you are encouraged to integrate with the dynamic and diverse community.
And you will interact daily with 4,000 like-minded professionals. At the EUV Sources & Conditioning department, a little flexibility and commitment can go a long, long way.
 
Job Description
You will play a key role within a multidisciplinary team that delivers one or more optical modules. Main Responsibilities:
• Define solution for challenges of the involved optical module(s)
• Define optical module function requirements and translate this to module sub functions
• Manage that supplier of module understands and delivers the intended functionality.
• Define and execute functional test of the optical module(s)
• Give inputs to interfacing projects (other source modules or source control functions)
• Lead the analysis of complex phenomena related to the involved optical module(s).
 

Education
MSc or PhD Physics with focus on optics
 
Experience
From 0 year - multi-year relevant experience in a multi-disciplined design task related to complex optical modules.
Knowledge of robust design of opto-mechanical modules and the functional control of these modules is a pro.
 
Personal skills
Strong self-propelling behavior. Good (English) communication skills in technical interactions. Good analytical skills and drive for quality. Used to take initiative to reach difficult goals. As for all functions the team player skills are essential.
 
Context of the position
The holder of this position is reporting to the DE EUV S&C Group leader for the EUV Source.
