We are looking for a Communications Manager, Positioning to join the Marketing Communications team and be part of our innovative Marine Power marketing team, to generate winning creative ideas, marketing and thought leadership concepts to support our journey to lead the maritime industry into a decarbonised future. We need someone with an excellent command of the English language and effective communication skills who can take a brief and, through emotionally engaging stories and visuals, inspire and captivate internal and external audiences, to help position our brand as the leader it deserves to be.



You will demonstrate exceptional verbal and written, effective communication skills and be digitally minded when articulating our message and unique value proposition. You will create inspiring marketing concepts and content across all our online and offline channels.



You will also understand the digital landscape and translate ideas from initial concept to inspiring and highly engaging messaging, which leverages the latest trending topics / discussions / technologies, and manifests itself into content that is searchable and emotionally engaging, across every device, platform, channel, and format.



Location:



The preferred location for the position is in Finland (Helsinki or Vaasa) or UK, but also other countries are possible.



In This Position You Will Be Responsible For



Positioning Wärtsilä as the thought leader in the maritime industry, which includes:

  • Creating, managing and developing decarbonisation messaging in cooperation with the marketing communications and strategy teams.
  • Lead communications for various collaboration projects
  • Developing and managing communications plans.
  • Influencing our Messaging house
  • Advising on and creating messaging for talking points, video scripts, presentations & coordinating/aligning with internal communications.
  • Creating and developing emotionally engaging, relevant marketing assets
  • Defining strong executive talking points
  • Creating inspiring presentations about key topics

Requirements

  • Excellent English language skills
  • Creative copywriting (and / or journalistic) skills
  • An eye for design/layouts
  • Genuine interest in future marketing trends
  • Knowledge of maritime market and stakeholders is a real advantage
  • Team player
  • Organised and able to work towards deadlines
  • 5+ years in the field
