Become a part of our Product Portfolio Management team in the Water Division

Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and one of the world’s leading manufacturer of intelligent metering solutions. We experience significant demand for our products and focus on development and production of intelligent metering equipment and systems for energy and water consumption. Therefore, we are looking for a new Commercial Product Manager for Software Solutions to join our Water Division.



With direct reference to our Head of Portfolio Management, you will become a part of a growing team consisting of six Commercial Product Managers. Together we are dedicated to globally develop and maintain Kamstrup’s future water product portfolio. We collect and identify customer needs within our key markets in the surrounding environment of utilities and implement this knowledge in the product and solutions strategy development and implementation.



A job with focus on commercial responsibility for our software solutions

In the position as Commercial Product Manager you will have the full commercial ownership of the Software Solutions and of guiding every step of the lifecycle. As owner of the business strategy it will be your responsibility to create and execute on a software roadmap based on customer needs and value propositions. You represent the voice of the customer in new product development projects where you are responsible for launch activities in relevant markets. This will be done in close collaboration with customers, Sales, R&D, Support function, Service Hosting, Product Management in other business areas and with colleagues in the Water Division.

More specific you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and ensuring return on the investments into software development and operation
  • Defining cost targets for operating and maintaining product on the market
  • Defining product strategy and roadmap based on market requirements and business goals
  • Ensuring clear pricing strategy for your portfolio
  • Ensuring clear and unambiguous prioritization among market & business needs
  • Reporting on cost and profitability performance of the product program in the market(s)
  • Providing relevant market and quality standards to be used

In the job, you can expect up to 20 travel days per year.



Personality matters

You have a background in either commercial business development combined with a great interest for innovation and technical solutions or a technical background combined with an academic education in business development. Most importantly, you have at least five years of documented experience in product management, commercial management or technology based business development, where you have been in charge for commercializing and developing a software based business model. Finally, a basic understanding of the digital journey from the water sector will be considered an advantage.



As a person you are analytical and driven by your desire to create change. You challenge status quo in order to inspire us to become even more profitable and scalable. You are self-driven and possess a proactive mind-set which gives you the ability to reach the given goals within the deadline.

You are fluent in English both written and oral. Danish will be an asset.
