Job Title: Cash Allocations Analyst (OTC)

Reports to: Team Lead Cash Allocation, Customer MDM

Position Summary:

The role involves the day to day recording of cash receipts and to be responsible for the cash application onto the correct account/invoice. Taking part in month-end activities such as account reconciliation, month end close and month end reporting is also expected.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily reviews cash received.
  • Records Cheque and Bank Receipts – ensuring remittances obtained proactively from the customer where necessary.
  • Records Debtors suspense movements; ensures sufficient documentation maintained to trace transactions and maintain reconciliation.
  • Ensures the allocation of Debtors suspense amounts against customers or to appropriate G/L area, proactively contacts customers regarding unresolved cash items.
  • Records Cheque receipts, lodging cheques with the bank, follow through to receipt an account.
  • Contacts customers to encourage and facilitate a move to the electronic payment method(s).
  • Reviews and allocates Unallocated Cash amounts on a regular basis.
  • Ensures the performance of tasks is carried out in line with company policies, internal controls, and the Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Assists with the companies E-Bill process if relevant.
  • Has knowledge of all legal entities, cash recording, and month end reconciliation.

Skills Required:

  • University or College degree, a degree in accounting or finance is an advantage.
  • 1-3 year work experience in a related Finance area.
  • Requires proven related experience ideally operating in a busy Accounts function dealing with Public as well as Commercial customers.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent computer skills; relevant software application proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving transactional issues and interacting effectively with team leaders and management is required.
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Fluency in English.
