Automation Engineer- 2nd/3rd level

 

• Design and implement automatic incident/problem remediation using automation infrastructure and scripting (in shell, Perl, PowerShell, JavaScript...

•Design and implement automatic incident/problem remediation is based on other team member input or based on own observations and/or best practice.

•Analyze effectiveness of existing automation and look for additional opportunities.

•Maintain and adjust existing automated solutions to reflect all changes in client environments.

•Work with clients to define automated improvements.

•Share best practices within the team and with clients.

•Provision and implement configuration changes, both in automation infrastructure and on client systems.

•Implement customized scripts where applicable (Shell, Perl, PowerShell, Java Script and Regular expressions)

•Troubleshoot process execution problems and work with other team members to correct them.



HOW YOUR PROFILE SHOULD LOOK LIKE:



- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT industry

- Good understanding of networking and related technologies/protocols/services (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, ...)

- Experience or interest for scripting (shell, Perl, PowerShell, JavaScript, …)

- Analytical Thinking

- Good understanding of a UNIX-based operating system (experience with administration of UNIX-based systems)

- Experience with regular expressions

- Good communication skills.



WHAT WE PREFER:



-Experience with regular expressions

-Familiarity with/expertise in administration of subsystems like:

- DB (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgress, …)

- Middleware (WebSphere AS, WebLogic, AS, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP server, …),

- ERP (SAP, BAAN, …)

- Business Intelligence (Cognos, Infosphere, …)

- Storage/Backup (TSM, SAN, ….)

- Virtualisation (VMWare, …)

- Monitoring technologies (Tivoli, Nagios, Xandria, Microsoft System Centr, HP Open View, …)

- Cloud

- Experience with Windows-based systems

- Experience with IPSoft automation infrastructure

- Knowledge of programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C, ...)
