With the objective to maintain our leading position in the market we are recruiting Automation Engineers to participate in the start up and roll out of a number of exciting transformation programs that will fundamentally change the way we operate and that will ensure we keep a significant competitive advantage.

Your role

As young engineer you will be integrated within a team of young professional working together on the startup of new solutions enabling the deployment of new technologies. You will be able to understand the scope and the requirements of the program you are assigned to, and will participate in brainstorming to generate innovative ideas on how to introduce automation processes and new technologies to enhance productivity and ensure that transformation programs are successful.

Your responsibilities

• Your tasks range from hardware planning, software programming, test runs to the acceptance of the complex systems in the plants in Germany, France, Belgium, and abroad;
• You will design and program the required servo and drive technology;
• You will install machines and systems (hardware and software) and participate to the development and creation of standard software in accordance to Aperam standards and governance;
• You will be responsible for project acceptance run's, compliance with quality standards, archiving and creation of appropriate documentation;
• Finally, you will help with the optimization and further development of machines and processes.

Your profile

• You have a basic technical education as well as an additional education (Bachelor, Ingenieur or Master) in electrical engineering or mechatronics;
• You are driven by creativity and innovation and are eager to learn and share;
• You are entrepreneurial, with strong communication skills and are able to convince non-experts of the value of your ideas and solutions; -
• Good PLC skills as well as knowledge with high-level language are required;
• Reliability, teamwork and organizational skills are among your strengths;
• You are motivated to travel (good English skills are also essential) and to integrate an international and multi-disciplinary team working in different countries.
