SDET Analyst

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Analyst will write and execute basic application tests at the source code level to prevent hidden errors (i.e., white box testing) within unit and component testing. Will need to identify and suggest improvements for code quality to improve deficiencies from functionality through structure of code for performance and maintainability. Build, maintain and review simple unit and component test suites and conduct automated white/black box tests as directed.

The SDET Analyst will develop non-complex software tools, frameworks and utilities for validation / verification activities and end-to-end functional testing of software. She/he will write straight-forward code that uses / exercises non-user interface (UI) components like application program interface's (API's), representational state transfer API (RESTful API), and web services similar to the end user to develop frameworks for testing as well as integrate automated suites with continuous integration (CI) tools for frequent execution as directed.

The SDET Analyst will use testing tools to conduct testing, analyzing and interpreting results as directed. She/he will assist with building, scripting, and generating data. The SDET Analyst is expected to analyze basic system performance and responses during loads. She/he will apply knowledge of procedures, methodology and / or application standards to include payment card industry and security related compliance to testing activities using automation.

The successful candidate should have the following skills and knowledge:

• Demonstrates some proficiency and knowledge in database SQL querying (Essential)

• Programming skills (Essential) {Preferably C #}

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying Test Methodologies (Desirable)

• Demonstrated experience in use of Test / Automation Tools (QC / QTP / JIRA) (Desirable)

• Demonstrates basic proficiency and knowledge in Unix/Linux (Desirable)

• Demonstrated experience in Defect / Incident Management (Desirable)

• ISEB / ISTQB Certification or Equivalent (Desirable)

Essential requirements for the role:

• At least 1 year of professional experience in IT/Card Industry (preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills

• Organized, reliable and able to multitask, be able to work under pressure

• Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated software development team

• Good time management skills, able to prioritise and progress several lines of work.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities
