For the Global Supply Quality Nacelle department we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer – Steel Parts to ensure continuous focus on the qualification process within our Procurement organization. The department has the overall responsibility for securing that suppliers meet Siemens Wind Power’s product requirements as well as corporate responsibilities. As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will handle supplier quality management systems, supplier processes and product qualifications in accordance with relevant requirements. In this position you will report to the Global Quality Manager, Nacelle.

What are my responsibilities?

· Conducting supplier and product qualifications (First Article Inspection) of sheet metal fabrication, welded, machined and surface-treated components. · Ensuring that the product and process quality of suppliers is compliant with Siemens Wind Power’s requirements. · Investigating, analyzing and correcting quality discrepancies in products and qualities of suppliers to minimize cost of poor quality. · Formulating an annual supplier strategy in relation to quality development and acting as representative and liaison of the quality team. · Representing the Supply Quality department during the annual supplier evaluation. · Representing the Supply Quality department within the respective commodity team. · Facilitating customer audits at suppliers. · Facilitating training and guidance for SQE colleagues in other countries. · Guiding our Supplier Quality Inspectors.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent professional background, combined with minimum 3 years of professional experience from a similar position in an international company. · You preferable have a broad background from component manufacturing industry including welding of all type of materials · You have good knowledge of welding technologies and welded assemblies. (Small & large welded components/assemblies). · Preferably you have a welding educational background like IWS/IWT. · You have experience with APQP – PPAP and dimensional verification (GPS and laser tracker). · Auditing experience in ISO9001 is mandatory, and candidates with a Lead Auditor examination will be preferred. · As a person you are self-driven, assertive and quality-oriented, and you have a structured approach to your tasks. · You are a dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and you are capable of interfacing with numerous parties at all levels in a multicultural environment. · You possess excellent English and IT skills, including SAP and Workspace. Please note that you should expect approx. 40-90 travel days per year. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
