For our Global Siting department based in Brande, Denmark, we are looking for a Meteorologist who are strong in analyzing historical wind data to predict the productivity of our onshore wind turbines. In this role, you will be part of a diverse team of dedicated wind experts who develops and coordinate wind and site related activities for colleagues around the world. This includes implementation of new tools and methodologies for micro siting, terrain and climatic evaluation, wind resource mapping and wind turbine load evaluation.

What are my responsibilities?

· Act as sparring partner to the regions by optimizing weather forecasts to refine CFD calculations and productivity estimates. · Investigate and illuminate weather phenomena in the regions that can impact the long time predictions. · Develop new improved tools and methods for the siting processes. · Implementing these improvements into the global Siting core processes. · Investigate and challenge information gathered from external experts. · Identify new data trends and process opportunities by cooperating with other Siemens units and external partners.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· You have a Master’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Physics or Environmental Engineering combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience with numerical weather prediction models, preferably Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) models. · Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to interface with numerous parties across a large international organization. · Curios by heart and passionate about challenging the “we use to…” as well as implementing new processes on a global scale. · Excellent communication skills and fluent in English both orally and in writing.
