Would you like to ensure product and system safety and play a key role in development projects for the world’s largest pump manufacturer? And do you want to become a specialist and develop your skills among experts? Then join our Global Approvals Department where we are responsible for ensuring product compliance regarding electrical and mechanical safety, hazardous locations, drinking water and chemicals. We are a team of 9 specialists around the world who support the Global Development & Engineering department. You will refer to Department Head Katrina Sonne Einhorn. “In our team, we are relentlessly ambitious when making sure that the Grundfos products live up to safety and compliance standards. We are a small function with great importance when it comes to getting our products ready for the market. Our work environment is friendly and collaborative, and we make sure to constantly challenge each other,” Katrina says.

What is the job about? As Product Safety Specialist, you are part of the entire development process from establishing initial demands to testing that everything lives up to current safety and compliance regulations and that correct documentation is in place. It is your responsibility to define safety requirements and make interpretations of standards and directives in the area of electrical and mechanical product/system safety. You manage all communication with test institutes and act as the driver and coordinator for approval processes in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. “This is a job with many tasks running simultaneously and many stakeholders are in play, so your challenge will be to prioritise your tasks and follow up with stakeholders to make sure that everything is running according to plan. No development process will prepare a product to go on the market without the safety approvals. As such, you need to take on both the specialist role as well as being a great communicator and, in a way, project manager in order for the product development to move forward,” Katrina explains.

What do you need to apply? You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, with a good understanding of mechanics. Further, you have 3+ years of experience working with product safety standards during product development. Your spoken and written English skills are excellent, and if you speak German, we consider it a plus. We also consider it an advantage if you have experience with design and test of electrical/mechanical systems and the interconnection of electrical and mechanical components. “As a person, you are detail-oriented and good at prioritising and planning your tasks. It is important as you will be handling many tasks simultaneously. Also, you are a team player who is able to communicate with stakeholders in order to spread the word on product safety and compliance in the organisation,” Katrina finishes.
