Registrered Nurse to Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic with the Burn Center

Region Östergötland is the main health care provider in Östergötland county with approximately 13 000 employees, 11 600 of which in healthcare. Three hospitals and 43 primary care centers are provided for the general population, as well as 40 public dental clinics. The university hospital in Linköping serves the southeastern part of Sweden with 1.2 million inhabitants.

The Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic with the Burn Center provides healthcare of the highest international class in the areas of hand surgery, plastic surgery and burn care. The clinic conducts national, regional and county healthcare and has both outpatient and inpatient care. We also conducts intensive research and development work and is a University healthcare unit. Our goal is to provide good and safe care with the patient in focus, through high competence, committed employees and a good working environment.

We are now searching for nurses with work experience to our Burn center and also to our care unit.

Job description 

Burn Center at the University Hospital in Linköping has been conducting advanced burn care, care development and research with a very high international standard for many years, and is one of two national units for advanced burn care. The care units consists of intensive care, surgical emergency care and reception care. We supply a high competence center for wound care. Research and teaching are a big part of everyday life to take the specialist care forward. The Burn Center cares for patients with burns and severe wounds. As a high-tech and specialized unit, we give our employees good opportunities for individual development and cutting-edge expertise. Here you get a unique opportunity to follow the patient throughout the care period, from the acute care, during the intensive care phase, pre- and postoperative care, wound and pain treatment, nutrition, rehabilitation, research and development. We work in multidisciplinary teams with the patient in focus.

In the clinics care department, you will encounter a number of exciting patient categories with different diagnoses and care needs. We work here according to the model for patient-centered care to create conditions for our patients to be able to participate in the care team. Each care team is responsible for approximately 5-6 patients. The work largely consists of surgical nursing, pain treatment and rehabilitation as well as jointly driving and developing care forward around the patient. As a nurse, you are responsible for ensuring that the care in each given situation is of the right quality based on the patient's individual needs and resources. Your role includes leading and distributing the patient-centered work and working for a positive climate in the workplace.

Requirements

• Registered nurse within the EU/EEA
• It´s  merit if you have further education and experience of intensive care
• Experience and training in wound care, nutrition, pain and rehabilitation are meritorious for the position. 
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft office
• English and Swedish language skills

Personal characteristics

You have a positive attitude, a good cooperative ability and can handle different situations in a constructive way. You enjoy working in teams with different professions.

Salary

Nurses: From 2700 EUR per month.

Salary are set individually depending on your qualification and experience.

Terms of employment

Before moving to Sweden you need to reach a certain level in the Swedish language and have your nurse training recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/.

Your employment will start with a clinical trial and introduction period, combined with further language studies. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by the County Council of Östergötland, it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.  

All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary are set individually depending on your qualification and experience.
