How it all started

TravelBird was founded in Amsterdam in April 2010. It all began in an attic and with founders Dennis Klompalberts and Symen Jansma, who offered just one fantastic new travel deal each day. For the past four years TravelBird has been expanding to 18 countries across Europe, and our websites now feature the most competitively priced holidays. Last April the famous Samwer brothers from Germany came on board as TravelBird’s first investors. TravelBird owes its success to a refreshingly simple idea: make it easy to book spectacular holidays and experiences by offering inspiring travel deals each and every day. Today TravelBird operates out of a large office on the Keizersgracht in the heart of Amsterdam, where over 400 enthusiastic and international “Birdies” work to find the best holiday destinations and create great deals for everyone.

A day as a Recruiter

Throughout the day you will be writing inspiring job offers, hunt for new talents and interview the potential ‘Birdies’. Your ultimate goal is to find that unique star that will reinforce our company. You will join forces with our team of ten recruiters and interns. In this growing and innovative environment the recruitment is very important; you’ll be responsible for the entire recruitment and selection process to complement our Belgian team. During the recruitment process you’ll be the direct contact person for all involved parties. You are an expert in finding new talents and you are not afraid to use new creative, innovative and original ways to accomplish your goal. You are recruiting for various functions, such as Account Managers, Marketeers, Editors, Planners and Customer Advisors. You know your way around social media and other recruitment tools to explore and implement your refreshing and groundbreaking ideas for the recruitment strategy. Your communicative skills, enthusiasm and motivation are aimed to ensure the further growth of TravelBird.

Who you are

• Social, enthusiastic self starter with an extensive network in Belgium;
• Smart (Bachelor Degree) and you have 1 - 3 years experience within recruitment;
• You feel at home in a fast paced environment; you are an adaptive go-getter that doesn’t stop at 17:30;
• You understand the Belgian market and know how to respond to it
• Excellent command of Flemish, French and English (spoken & written);
• You are a proactive and motivated team player who creates new ideas for the recruitment strategy;
• You have a proven record of working with recruitment tools, social media and job boards;
• You stand your ground and you are not afraid to ask critical questions when necessary;
• Live in (or around) the beautiful and vibrant city Amsterdam or are willing to travel..
