Who we are

Young, dynamic, enthusiastic, flexible, smart, ambitious, “work hard, play hard”, are all words that characterise a 'birdie'. Not everyone can be a 'birdie' and not everyone wants to be one. We are now looking for a talented sales manager to enforce our team!

How it all started

TravelBird was founded in Amsterdam in April 2010. It all began in an attic and with founders Dennis Klompalberts and Symen Jansma, who offered just one fantastic new travel deal each day. For the past four years TravelBird has been expanding to 18 countries across Europe, and our websites now feature the most competitively priced holidays. Last April the famous Samwer brothers from Germany came on board as TravelBird’s first investors. TravelBird owes its success to a refreshingly simple idea: make it easy to book spectacular holidays and experiences by offering inspiring travel deals each and every day. Today TravelBird operates out of a large office on the Keizersgracht in the heart of Amsterdam, where over 400 enthusiastic and international “Birdies” work to find the best holiday destinations and create great deals for everyone.

A day as a Sales Manager

As Sales Manager you are responsible for the sales results and the development of the Belgian Account Management team. Your challenge is to combine your commercial insights and sales talent with your leadership skills to further the success of TravelBird Belgium. The central responsibilities will involve the management of the Account Managers as well as developing strong relationships with key accounts. You have natural leadership skills and with your enthusiasm and inspiration you work towards a self motivating team with commercial excellence. Apart from functioning as a team leader you will be expected to join efforts with your team members by generating relationships yourself. Moreover, you enjoy thinking strategically about new opportunities and possibilities in sales, which you will discuss with the Country Manager. You will do your utmost to stimulate the growth of your country as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Who you are

  • You are a natural leader that gets a kick out of motivating and inspiring a team;
  • You are commercially minded and have at least 3 years of experience in sales and management;
  • You are energetic, result oriented, open minded and capable of adapting to a dynamic working environment;
  • You possess outstanding communication skills;
  • You have a Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Business, Economics or Marketing;
  • Your heart beats faster when thinking of closing deals and travelling;
  • You are a native level French and/or Flemish speaker;
  • You have affinity with the travel/hotel industry;
  • A genius in creating new business opportunities;
  • Live in (or around) the beautiful and vibrant city of Amsterdam or are willing to move..
