Interoperability Test Engineer

Country:

Netherlands

Introduction

ASML’s TWINSCAN products are critical elements in the semiconductor manufacturing process. System level testing is a very important step in the development process of our products and ensures that the system meets specifications. The Interoperability Test Engineer is a key participant in the system level test process and provides important input to the product release decision making process.

ASML’s main product is the TWINSCAN wafer scanner, a complex high precision machine used by our customers in the semiconductor industry to create Integrated Circuits. The external software interfaces of these TWINSCAN are extensive and are used by our customer’s automation systems. If there are unintended changes in a new software release, the customer’s production flow will halt, with a negative impact on the customer’s logistics and eventually a lower yield of the customer’s factory.

Job Mission

It is your mission to test and report the quality of ASML’s products at the interface level. You prevent issues from reaching the customer.

Job Description

As an Interoperability Test Engineer, you define, automate, execute and report on system level interoperability tests. You perform both regression and progression testing in ASML’s own test environment, TWIST.

While executing the interoperability tests, you detect, analyze and register issues. You work with development teams in diagnosing the issues and re-testing solutions.

You report the issues found and enable the product teams to judge the impact and risks of the issues. Lead time and test quality are important; you continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectivity of your work.

You work in a small team. There is one project Lead for the team but the team works for 4 other projects who deliver the individual TWINSCAN software releases.

Education

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology.

Experience

You have at least 3 years experience in testing, preferably in a hardware/software environment. You are ISTQB certified or you have a similar certification and are willing to get an ISTQB certification. You have experience with test automation and with several test techniques.

Personal skills

The candidate is flexible, result driven, has a “make it happen attitude”, is a good communicator and a self starter. The candidate has an eye for detail and is accurate in the work execution.

He or she can combine execution pragmatism with a structural process approach.

Context of the position

Data (machine data/lot data/diagnostics data) is sent and received across systems through interfaces. The trend is that customers ask more data and information to be available on these interfaces, as well as more functions and features, resulting in a continuous, exponential growth of data. The TwinScan Interoperability testing team covers the external interfaces of the TwinScan system through which this data flows.
