Junior Product Engineer

THE JOB

We’re in “Hyper-growth” mode and are looking for a Junior Product Engineers.
You are a team player, ambitious, pragmatic, self-driven, able to juggle multiple tasks, strong in communication, with a solution-focused attitude and ideally you’re passionate about social media and the SaaS solutions business.
As part of our Product team, you will be involved in building the rich user interface that our clients work with every day. You would be responsible for designing and developing high quality UI, by productizing the APIs that our platform provides, creating engaging data visualisation and tools for our clients, planning and structuring great UX across the platform with our product and design teams.
Creating high-performance, efficient, low footprint client-side code is your passion. You eat big data for lunch, have a great passion for data visualisation and you are the type that enjoys a discussions about product strategy, infrastructure, feature prioritizations and process – we believe in a team effort and that all input is valid.
Falcon Social´s stack is currently running on mix of: Java, PostgreSQL, AWS, Redis, Python, Nginx, jQuery, Knockout JS, Node.js.

REQUIRED SKILLS
1+ year of Client-side technologies Javascript, Flash (or similar) experience
1+ year of JavaScript MVC experience (preferably KnockoutJS)
2+ years of HTML4/5, CSS2/3 experience
Good understanding of HTTP, REST API concepts
1+ years of using version control system: preferably git
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English primarily)

EXPERIENCE WITH SEVERAL OF THE FOLLOWING
Linux system administration
Jenkins CI, continuous integration and deployment
Data visualisation frameworks (e.g. d3.js)
JavaScript MVC experience (preferably KnockoutJS)
NoSQL databases (e.g. Redis, AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB etc.)
Server-side technologies (Java, Ruby, Python, C#, PHP or similar)
Social media APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.)
Amazon Web Services
Experience or interest in build/optimization script
Experience or interest in Python or Node.js
Experience or interest in mobile development (native or phonegap, for example)
