Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Senior R&D Director who can leverage leadership experience and frontline the District Energy (DEN) R&D organization. As a competent leader, you are able to provide guidance that enhances performance and incorporates the company’s vision and culture. You have a strong technical focus and solid understanding on different heating applications.

Danfoss Heating Segment (DHS) is a leading supplier in advanced heating components and systems delivering comfort and energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings as well as enhanced heating performance in District Energy Networks.



As the Senior R&D Director, you will lead the entire District Energy R&D Organization plus non-residential (NRE) PL28 business. You will lead leaders in Slovenia, Denmark, China and Romania and together you will develop an R&D strategy for the business whilst also being one of the key contributors in expanding DHS business. By active participation in creating the divisional and BU business strategy, based on Core & Clear strategy, your focus will be on »Driving technology competitiveness«, and »Leading the leaders«.





Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for developing divisional and BU business strategy; actively participating　in creating the overall divisional and respective BU business model and strategy
  • Responsible for developing and executing operational plans; understanding the strategic objective and transfer them into departmental business plans with key measurable goals
  • Accountable for developing an innovative product portfolio
  • Accountable for effective product development process through successful management of area project roadmap, developing project plans for new product development with all required stakeholders, ensuring that the new product development projects are completed within specification, on time and within budget
  • Establishing baselines for cost, delivery, quality and other key metrics and set up standard measurement and reporting routines to tracking progress against targeted improvements

  • Execution of business plans



Your education and experience:

  • Master Degree (ideally from Mechanical Engineering)
  • Strong technical knowledge and focus within different heating applications (balancing, commercial, controls, stations)
  • Proven industry experience with a solid track record in R&D leaderships
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience from international, global and matrix organization
  • Leadership and decision-making skills
  • Understanding cultural diversity and differences
  • Strong communication and people management skills, combined with technical competencies and business orientation
