Are you passionate about equipment engineering and design verification and are looking to develop your career further in a large international organization? Then we are looking for two Lead Engineers to join our Equipment Design Calulation team in Brande. Today the team consists of 12 dedicated and competent engineers who works in close collaboration with the other teams in the Equipment Development departments as well as other stakeholders in the Siemens Wind Power organisation.     

 

The Equipment Development department is part of Siemens Wind Power’s Onshore organization and employs approximately 70 people located in Brande and at the two equipment warehouses in Tinglev and Esbjerg. The department is involved in all stages of the turbine installation process, and the key function is to ensure the availability of appropriate installation tools as well as transport and lifting equipment.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Develop new transport lifting and storage equipment
  • Responsible for the interface between equipment and main components
  • Technical design responsible for equipment within wind turbine platform
  • Participate in early stage concept development
  • Facilitate Lean workflow between technical departments
  • Align technical requirements into Product Requirement Specifications
  • Ensure design review according to internal processes
  • Owner of Technical Dossier for equipment
  • Carry out Design Risk Analyses and design reviews
  • Carry out strength and fatigue analyses of transport lifting, and storage equipment by use of e.g. ANSYS
  • Carry out strength assessment reports, analytical calculations and reports in Mathcad
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of transport and lifting equipment, i.e. with regards to strength optimizations
  • Contributing to the development/optimization of fabrication specifications

 

 What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You have a degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree, combined with at least 3-5 years of experience from mechanical or structural engineering, preferably within design of structural steel or mechanical systems in the wind power industry
  • You have profound understanding of structural behavior of loaded constructions
  • You have experience working with CAD. Experience with ANSYS, Mathcad, NX Unigraphics (version 8) and 3D modeling is considered to be an advantage
  • You are familiar with EUROCODE (EC0, EC1, EC3), and related EN standards. Knowledge of EN 13155 & EN 12195, DNV, GL, and IMO norms will be an advantage
  • As a person, you are independent, result-oriented, and you are a dedicated team player capable of motivating the other members of your team
  • You thrive in a multicultural environment and possess excellent communication and English skills, both orally and in writing
