The Radiology and Imaging functions at the Karolinska University Hospital have a national leading role in the field. We are responsible for all Karolinska University Hospital's care, research and training in the fields of Radiology, Medical Radiation Physics, Nuclear Medicine and Physiology

We have the latest and most advanced technology and within our staff we have highly specialized doctors, radiographers, nurses, physicists and biomedical analysts. We conduct cutting-edge research and development together with the Karolinska Institute.

With highly specialized staff and advanced diagnostic methods the Radiology unit in Solna work in close collaboration with colleagues within all medical fields at the hospital to ensure best possible treatment to patients.  At our department there are good opportunities to further develop your skills and taking part in ongoing research at the unit.

Advanced oncology and trauma are two of the main patient groups at Karolinska in Solna. The trauma center is the largest in Sweden with a population uptake of about 3 million people and is a certified “Level-1 trauma center”.

Job description

Very diverse radiologic work depending on which unit you primarily belong to. Everything from advanced oncology in the thorax or abdomen to severe trauma, to more everyday accidents and medical cases from the emergency unit. We also take care of referrals from the many intensive care units throughout the hospital.

On call duty is included in the job and is individually agreed upon depending on competence.

Requirements

Specialist in radiology or a radiology resident.

Terms of employment

Fulltime permament position.

In order to work as a doctor of medicine in Sweden you need to know Swedish at the level of C1. There are several options for learning the language prior to locating to Sweden. If you have a degree from within EU or EEA you need to subit a certificate showing C1 proficiency when applying for a Swedish license to practice.Please find more information about the process of recieving a Swedish license to practice here.

Your employment will start with an introduction period. 

Salary

Radiology resident ranging from 40 000 to 45 000 SEK per month.

Specialist in radiology ranging from 70 000 to 75 000 SEK per month.

Salary is individually set depending on competence and previous experience.

All contracts follow local and national collective agreements.
