Purchaser

Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for a Purchaser to strengthen the Material Management team. As a Purchaser your workdays mainly consist of contacting internal and external stakeholders, as well as following up and securing correct purchasing activities. 

 

Location: Vaasa, Finland. 

Responsibilities

As a Purchaser, you are responsible for project related purchasing activities within nominated categories, such as securing and coordinating the deliveries according to project requirements and supplier time schedule. You are also responsible of offer evaluations and project specific purchase negotiations with suppliers.

In your work, you will also ensure alignment and cooperation with strategic sourcing. You will actively develop the way of working in cooperation with different stakeholders.

 

Requirements 

To succeed as a Purchaser, you should have good negotiation skills and a result-oriented attitude. In your daily work, you will work closely with team members and different stakeholders which requires good communication and team working skills. 

 

Accuracy, strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to work under pressure are needed in this position.

 

You should have a technical or commercial education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) and a good knowledge of English and Finnish/Swedish. Previous experience in SAP is required and minimum 2 years’ experience from a similar position.
