Mobile Network Engineer

What do we do? Pod is currently in a transitional period from a mid to full-MVNO (in terms of the level of its own vs MNO infrastructure). The Pod platform allows for a full range of integration options. This allows Pod to adapt and integrate with operators based on the availability of services, and the depth of integration available.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Formal telecoms/electronic qualification or equivalent experience gained through previous roles.

-Understanding of the home mobile core network architecture including HLR / HSS, GGSN / P-GW, SMS-C, CAMEL Phase 2

-Understanding of mobile roaming architecture including the role of serving networks, signaling interconnect and GRX / IPX providers

-Knowledge of 2G / 3G networking, and 4G LTE technologies

-Experience of working with a range of telecoms technologies

-Solid understanding with practical hands-on experience of IP networks, VLANs and routing fundamentals, Signalling SS7 & SIGTRAN, Diameter protocols. 

-Technical knowledge of maintaining on-premises equipment and cloud services in areas such as virtual machines, storage, network, and security. 

-Experience in deploying and maintaining production infrastructure including patching. 

-Experience in working with Linux operating systems, specifically Centos and RHEL.
