Descripción de la oferta de empleo

Our client is the leading innovator in 3D motion tracking technology and products. Its technologies enable a seamless interaction between the physical and the digital world in consumer electronics devices and professional applications such as 3D character animation, motion analysis, and industrial control & stabilization. Clients and partners include Electronic Arts, VU Amsterdam, Daimler, English Institute of Sports, Siemens and various other leading universities, institutes and companies throughout the world.

The company has an immediate opening for an experienced researcher (ER) on sensor fusion at their HQ in Enschede, The Netherlands. The ER will participate in an Initial Training Networks (ITN) research project sponsored by the EU under the Marie Curie actions in the 7th Framework Program. The project concentrates on Tracking in Complex Sensor Systems, focusing on complexities due to large volumes of data, complex object dynamics and measurement models, as well as large scale systems. Besides participating in this project, you will work in as part of a highly motivated team of professionals in sensor fusion and software development.

Key responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the ER is to develop robust optimization based estimation methods for large scale systems with an application to inertial human body tracking and parameter estimation, exploiting recent developments in numerical optimization and SLAM. The key challenge is to ensure that inevitable modeling errors and contradicting sensors only affect the state vector locally, thus ensuring a manageable solution.

Profile

  • You are a result oriented, highly motivated scientist who is able to work as a team player, you feel at home in a small and flexible team of strong professionals.
  • You derive motivation and satisfaction of being part of a world-class team in 3D motion tracking, developing and supporting our cleints products used by customers world-wide.
  • You have a PhD in applied mathematics, applied physics, related engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • You have a thorough understanding of sensor fusion and estimation.
  • A relevant background in robotics is an advantage.
  • Experience with sensor fusion for pose tracking is an advantage.
  • As required by ITN20131
    - You have less than five years of full-time equivalent research experience.
    - You have not resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
