Look Abroad! is a company specialised in recruiting Spanish and international engineers for Danish employers. In this case our client is a hi-tech company based in Copenhagen. They develop and manufacture modular smart cameras and are supplying Linux enabled camera solutions for industrial vision, R&D and sports and event live streaming. The business area of live streaming is relatively new and growing, and the company needs to strengthen their team with a software multimedia developer to work in that area. Maybe that’s you?

You will be working in team of multidisciplinary (Hardware, Software, Apps, VHDL, Mechanics) skilled and passionate engineers with many different nationalities.

We are looking for a talented developer with prior experience working with multimedia frameworks such as GStreamer for application and system development of a modular sports and entertainment streaming system.

You will be involved in all parts of the product from real time live stream production, camera tracking systems, camera integration in sports arenas and having close dialogue with the other software engineers and app designers on functionality, API's, and interfacing to external systems.

You will have great influence on implementation and selection of new features and how to integrate these in the system as well as designing custom features for the system.

Your main focus will be on the multimedia production using GStreamer and interfaces to external devices, partners and apps.

The system provides live production from fixed and multiple moving (ptz) cameras to a live streaming, with audio mixing overlay handling, replays, highlights and much more on our own edge servers.

The system is constantly developing with new features, new sports and entertainment, so you will be able to make your mark and see the results of your work live.

Required knowledge and experience

  • Strong Computer Science background
  • Experienced in Linux environments
  • Proficient in C/ C++ and a scripting language (Python)
  • Lots of experience with multimedia frame frameworks such as GStreamer and FFmpeg
  • Good oral and written English skills for internal and external communication.

Desired skills, knowledge and qualifications

  • Developing for embedded systems
  • Media codecs H.264, HEVC, VP9
  • Streaming protocols RTP/RTSP, DASH, HLS, SRT, WebRTC
  • OpenCV and knowledge about image processing
  • Open Source contributions

The offer to you

  • You will be working with new and exciting technology, allowing you to continue developing professionally.
  • You will be part of a small team and have a high degree of freedom to manage your own work.
  • You will be working in an international team of engineers and English will be your working language. Your closest colleagues will be a Spanish and a Brazilian engineer, who have already been some years with the company.
  • A full-time, permanent contract with a salary in the range 6.500 – 7.500 euros gross/month (including pension scheme).
  • A minimum of 1 week/year of courses or conferences.
  • 37 hours work/week with flexible hours
  • Opportunity of working from home. You do, however, need to settle in or near Copenhagen.
  • A job close to the centre of Copenhagen, a city which is consistently being ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live in.

  • You will be expected to start working at the company in October 2020.
