Welding engineer/specialist - responible welding department

Your Role

Your role covers the following areas of responsibility, firstly:

• You manage, motivate and coach a team of factory operators. The team consists of approx. 10 welders. This may be expanded in the future with operators working in the following departments: turning lathe (1 operator), INOX center (4 operators) and sawing (1 operator)
• You monitor the production process within the department and ensure proper work allocation of each welder resulting in continuous, smooth and safe production flows
• Together with your team you guarantee the quality of the parts produced
• You provide feedback and recommendations for improvement related to designs of technical parts and production methods to the technical design team

Secondly:

• You are the first point of contact for everything that involves welding
• The designers can solicit your feedback concerning required welds on specific parts
• You learn how to program and operate a newly acquired welding robot

Your Profile

• You possess of a technical Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent through professional experience  
• You have experience in metal transformation, practical experience in the following areas is considered as a plus:

• Welding
• Metal turning / Milling
• Sawing
• Metal pleats
• Laser cutting

• You are accurate, a good communicator and assertive
• You are a team player that can also work independently
• You are flexible in terms of working schedule and during peak moments overtime is not a problem to you
• You are computer savvy (Word – Excel – Outlook), experience in an ERP software is considered as a plus
• You are eager to learn and hands-on
• Basic knowledge English or French required
