Helgelandssykehuset HF consists of three local hospitals (located in Mo i Rana, Mosjøen and Sandnessjøen). The hospitals are organised in a trust which may be considered as “centralised-decentralised”. Mosjøen has superb surroundings, with mountains and fjord and close to the Arctic Circle. It is a small town with apr.13000 inhabitants. It has a great cultural life, cafes, cinema, music scene, swimmingpool, alpine possibilities, Sherpa-stairs, Via Ferrata, and the famous “Sjøgata” with old wooden buildings. The urological unit is located at Mosjøen hospital and is responsible for the urological needs of the entire Helgeland area. The surgical doctors have specialities in general surgery, urology, orthopedics and plastic surgery. The unit treats apporoximately 2800 patients per year, with around 600 patients having surgery. Surgeons take part in on-call duties for outpatients and evaluations for patients in internal medicine dep.
The urological unit has its own modern and well equipped surgical department with ex. TUR/Vaporisation in saltwater, traditionally stone treatment and laser, PDD. There is also ESWL treatments with an own maschine (Dornier compact), and flexible ureteroroscopes and a new Homiumlaser.

Norwegian authorisation as a doctor
Norwegian specialist authorisation in urology.
Clinical and operative experience is preferred
Must be fluent in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. Language course is otherwise required.
