Currently, we are looking for a candidate for a position of:
Telco Design Engineer
As part of Long Haul Transmission (LHT) project activities, we are looking for a Telco Design Junior Engineer to be involved in US & European-wide projects. The candidate will:
Provide technical project management to ensure the projects are delivered to requirements
Develop and produce transmission specification documents (including design specifications and diagrams)
Organize and coordinate tests plans to check the integrity of the network deployed.
Responsibilities:
Perform Equipment Engineering for layer one and layer two network build projects in the U.S.A. and/or EMEA
Create detailed Install Specifications and create Bill of Material for equipment / cables / hardware orders
Interface with Operations and Implementation Organization to obtain critical pre-engineering information
Engineer will manage multiple projects and effectively coordinate with Planning, Vendor Technical Management
Academic / Experience / Skills Requirements:
Background and experience in telecommunications
English language – minimum B2 level for everyday communication in written and spoken form
Ability to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors
Excellent customer and internal communication skills are required
Self-motivated person
Ability to take responsibility for your work
Knowledge MS Office products
Clear criminal record
Some of the following skills are an advantage:
Knowledge of fiber optic technologies
Knowledge of SAP, Visio, AutoCAD
Knowledge of network services such as WAN, LAN (CCENT level sufficient)
Knowledge of Ciena ULH, DWDM, SDH products/technologies or fiber optic technologies
Minimum 2 years telco service delivery experience at customer support, new product introduction or engineering level
Technical and project management skills (Experience in the delivery of network infrastructure parts)
Experience in management of international / global projects / networks or similar role (e.g. Delivery Management)
