The Downstream Technologies department is seeking a Team Leader with a dynamic and innovative mind-set to strengthen our protein and peptide purification and process development activities. The position is in the Downstream Technologies Department within the Global Research Unit located in Måløv, north-west of Copenhagen.

About the department
The department, Downstream Technologies, consists of 18 scientists, 27 technicians and 5 students, divided into three teams. It is responsible for protein purification and initial downstream process development for new drug substance candidates. We are using state-of-the-art technologies to develop new methods and deliver material for preclinical testing. We are part of the Recombinant Protein Technology area and have close collaboration with other areas within Global Research as well as Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development.

The position
You will lead a team of 15 highly skilled and engaged scientists and technicians. The position gives you the opportunity to combine scientific expertise with excellence in people management. As a Team Leader you are not only setting directions for your team and developing and motivating employees, you are yourself at the forefront of scientific and technological development and you are directly involved in project work. You ensure deliveries with focus on our stakeholders and coordinate tasks within your team. As a part of a dynamic and engaged leader group you also contribute to the development of the department and the area within Global Research.

You hold a Ph.D. in protein chemistry, biochemistry, biochemical engineering or a related discipline and have worked with protein purification, chromatographic techniques and downstream process development. You have experience in leading and engaging people in a scientific and project oriented environment. You are motivated by the interaction with people and you have the ability to pass on your passion to your employees. At the same time you are a team player and you understand and accommodate the needs of your stakeholders. You have excellent communicative skills in English and ideally also in Danish.

The department is part of Global Research, specialising in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes.
