Job Description

Staff Nurse to provide care to the elderly.

Role

Your role shall be to provide the highest standards of nursing care to all residents within the Nursing

Home and operate under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager with overall

responsibility to the Director of Care.

Responsibilities

- Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership to the team on duty.

- Prioritise and manage resident care in line with all applicable regulations and standards in order to ensure the highest quality of care.

- Supervise and support all staff in the course of their duties in delivering resident care and ensure a professional and respectful approach is always adopted.

- Monitor Resident Hygiene, supervise Resident Nutrition and provide direction with Resident Mobility.

- Facilitate co-ordination and ensure co-operation among all staff thereby ensuring a high level of satisfaction and team work.

- Prepare, implement and review individual residential care plans.

- Supervise End of Life Care.  

Job Specifications

- QQI level 7/8 B. Sc in Nursing or an equivalent Healthcare Qualification (Essential).

- Candidate must register with Nursing Midwife Board of Ireland (NMBI) (Essential).

- Excellent Clinical, Leadership and Organisational skills (Essential).

- Sound decision-making ability (Essential).

- Ability to work in a team environment (Essential).

- Professional, caring and respectful character (Essential).

- Confident to work in a sometimes-challenging environment (Essential).

- Possess good communication skills (Essential).

- Good spoken and written English skills (Essential)

- Ability to work in a shift environment during a rostered week, either by day or night (Essential). 

- Practical experience in a caring environment (Desirable).

- Be familiar with HIQA regulations and required practices (Desirable).
