Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-057580 Core to Global Production and Development (GPD) requires the delivery of the highest quality work to our partners in the business units. This requires continuous improvement of the integrated field development capability. We Offer Maersk Oil offers a unique opportunity for a strong, highly motivated technical professional environment that provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated technically proficient experienced engineer to take an active role in GPD organization for Maersk Oil and Gas. GPD is a capability centre offering integrated field development planning support to the Maersk Oil global business. Maersk Oil has opted for the capability centre model to secure critical mass and high quality within certain capabilities of strategic importance to be able to deliver on the Maersk Oil project portfolio. Apart from in integrated field development planning Maersk Oil also has capability centres in EOR and in geomechanical and geophysical technology. GPD currently provides support to the business units in Qatar, UK, Norway, Kazakhstan and Kurdistan. The operating model for the GPD organization focuses on specific project scope and deliverables with the business foundation that GPD will provide integrated teams that support the maturation of large projects from the Maersk Oil project portfolio. Integrated project teams are formed with direct alignment with the business units to ensure all existing knowledge and experience is available. GPD often also provides project management and in some cases decision executive support in line with the Maersk Oil Project Maturation Process. In this way GPD resources provide expertise where this is required and can help units manage peaks in their activity levels. Key Responsibilities The GPD Qatar subsurface and facilities team in Copenhagen has the responsibility to deliver the highest quality work to our partners in the business units. The Al Shaheen field is the third largest offshore carbonate oil field in the world. As part of the team in the reservoir engineering function you will be responsible for some or all of the following. •Simulation, classical, and analytical reservoir engineering in carbonate reservoirs. •History match with reservoir simulation of existing development areas. oChallenges contained within the HM exercise: ?PVT and Pc variations within the reservoir ? Long open hole horizontal completions •Detailed reservoir modeling for the purpose of designing and revising development schemes and making recommendations and potential well conformance opportunities. •Reporting and documentation of results and work flow for communications with the business unit partners. •Probabilistic forecasting and HM scenarios for future field development plans •Optimization of well spacing, water injection and production rates with the potential for EOR as the EOR potential matures through the assess gate stages of evaluation. •Investigate and explore with reservoir engineering simulation tools opportunities for improving reservoir performance and ultimate recoveries with a focus on commerciality. Who we are looking for •BSc. level or higher in a relevant academic discipline. •Ten or more years of experience in upstream E&P in multidisciplinary environments. •Candidates should demonstrate recent in-depth experience of at least 5 years of reservoir simulation, preferably directly related to field development. •Good awareness of the roles of and uncertainties in the other disciplines in integrated development teams and how to express those in the Reservoir Engineer’s products. •Familiarity with all aspects of classical reservoir engineering. •Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills. •Fluency in written and spoken English For further information, please contact: For any technical queries, please contact Helle Vestergaard. *LI-AJ1 Maersk Oil is an international oil and gas company with operated production of about 557,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from Denmark, the UK, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Algeria.
