Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-050450 The Global Production and Development (GPD) Qatar subsurface and facilities team in Copenhagen has the responsibility for development planning and business development support of the giant Al Shaheen field in Qatar. The work is done in close collaboration with the Al Shaheen business unit in Qatar and Qatar Petroleum. The field is the third largest offshore carbonate field in the world. An integrated team of geoscientists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, production technologists and facilities engineers work together to characterize and model the field and development opportunities. We Offer Maersk Oil offers a unique opportunity for a strong, highly motivated technical professional environment that provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated technically proficient experienced engineer to take an active role in the GPD organization for Maersk Oil and Gas. GPD is a capability centre offering integrated field development planning support to the Maersk Oil global business. Apart from in integrated field development planning Maersk Oil also has capability centres in EOR and in geomechanical and geophysical technology. GPD currently provides support to the business units in Qatar, UK, Norway, Kazakhstan and Kurdistan. GPD will provide integrated teams that support the maturation of large projects from the Maersk Oil portfolio project portfolio. Integrated project teams are formed with direct alignment with the business units to ensure all existing knowledge and experience is available. Key Responsibilities As a lead reservoir engineer you will be part of an integrated team studying the waterflood and WAG recovery processes in Al Shaheen. You and the team will work to identify opportunities for optimization of current and maturation of new development opportunities. As part of a team you will be responsible for some or all of the following : •Reservoir simulation (black oil and compositional) to understand performance of existing waterflood and water alternating gas (WAG) pilot areas. •Provide input to reservoir surveillance plans for WAG pilots. •Identify and implement data acquisitions need for better understanding of the WAG recovery process •Quantifying and managing risk associated with WAG •Work collaboratively with EOR capability center and MOQ •Development and maintenance of EOR workflows and tools •Reporting and documentation of results to key stakeholders. •Probabilistic forecasting and HM scenarios for future field development plans •Investigate and explore with reservoir engineering simulation tools opportunities for improving reservoir performance and ultimate recoveries with a focus on commerciality. Who we are looking for •BSc. level or higher in a relevant academic discipline. •10+ of experience in upstream E&P in multidisciplinary environments. •Minimum 5 years working with WAG EOR projects both with reservoir modelling and flood surveillance. •Strong background in compositional simulation •Preferably experience in reservoir management of WAG floods *LI-AJ1 For further information, please contact: Benjamin Sargent 00 45 61 14 19 02 for technical queries..
