POSSESSES THE EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE TO MANAGE PHYSICALLY AND REMOTELY THE IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND TO DELIVER SECOND LEVEL USER SUPPORT TO USERS OF VARIOUS OFFICES.

Our client is a specialised leader in their line of work and are currently looking to recruit a Senior Systems Administrator to act as a team lead with a team of three engineers to coordinte and lead in the support and operations or internal systems and infrastructure.

Senior Systems Engineer

Reporting to the team manager, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivering assigned projects within time frames and budgets, and in accordance with company policies, while maintaining Applications, Databases and Directory Services to industry standards.

  • Supports and troubleshoots the server infrastructure, including both physical and virtual environments (Windows and Red Hat OS)
  • Administer all Data Centre operations: Active Directory, backend servers (storage and RDBMS servers), Web servers and SCADA Infrastructure
  • Provide third level support services - resolved by providing advice or training to users about correct operation or constraints, correcting faults and updating system documentation
  • Establishes and maintains a suitable backup and recovery strategy in line with current technologies
  • Supervise the monitoring and auditing of the logs generated by the organisations security infrastructure and highlight potential breaches and take proactive actions to minimise potential loss of data

The chosen candidate will be an experienced Systems Administrator with a formal qualification in IT or Computing. Knowledge of Windows Server Administration, Red Hat Enterprise, Database administration on Oracle and SQL server will be required, while having a background or understanding of networking technologies would be ideal. Demonstrated experience in delivering technical services, hands on Systems Administration skills, and experience in delivering enterprise systems projects will be considered favourably.

This role offers flexible working hours, long term stability, additional allowances and in depth training. A 3 year fixed contract will be offered to the prospective candidate, which will shift into an indefinite contract on the 4th year.
