Work as senior structural engineer in offshore topside projects You will play an important role in the design and assessment of offshore steel structures, e.g. complete topside structures and modules and bridges for the international offshore market or modification projects on existing facilities. You will be part of a project team, where you will act as senior structural engineer within the structural discipline. You will also act as a coach/mentor to younger employees, typically 1-3 employees at a time. In your mentoring role you will primarily focus on design and analysis tasks, and help to improve the skills of your colleagues through professional discussion and sparring. Your tasks will include: •Work as senior structural engineer on structural topside projects. Focus will typically be on structural layout, design and construction. Project types can vary from initial studies to full detailed design projects. •Occasionally work as lead structural engineer on topside projects varying in complexity and size. •Set up and develop overall structural layouts and design of structural solutions for our clients •Provide guidance in the structural design team with respect to selected steel structure solutions, analysis issues and joints/connections design according to project requirements •Prepare design calculations via structural analysis programs or desktop calculations •Prepare design reports •Ensure that all design documentation is carried out according to project requirements •Coordinate with other design disciplines and own 3D CAD team •Work as technical/structural sparring partner and advisor on projects and internally in the department •Ensure the quality of the engineering services •Participate in the delegation of tasks and assignments to Ramboll’s office in India You will also get the chance to travel offshore in the Danish and Norwegian sector of the North Sea to perform survey tasks, normally 2-4 times a year, 1-2 days per trip. Your design solutions demonstrate your understanding of how every detail fits into the bigger picture. To succeed in this position, you need the following competences: •A bachelor or master degree in engineering preferably in buildings or structures, or alternatively machinery •Min. 6-9 years of experience within design of steel structures, preferably from the offshore industry in Europe or a close related region with offshore energy production •Full understanding of what it takes to design, analyse and document offshore structures according to the prevailing codes in the offshore industry. Working experience with finite element analysis of offshore topside structures combined with participation in the full design cycle for offshore structures is a significant advantage •Fluency in English, written and orally. Fluency in Danish or other Scandinavian language is an advantage •Experience as lead engineer on design projects, including estimates and control of cost, time, resources and quality is an advantage but not a prerequisite Your new colleagues The Topside Structures department consists of 30 highly skilled colleagues in three topside teams and a CAD team, delivering high end design services within offshore steel structures.
