The PSTN team is all about connecting millions of users to the world of landline and mobile telephones in the most efficient way. We operate at global scale and this requires highly extensible and resilient signaling and media infrastructure. This is where we come in - and you!
What will you do:
Full software development lifecycle
Understanding business and technical requirements, creating technical architecture, programming, documenting, creating unit-tests, testing, releasing, troubleshooting and fixing bugs
Work together with colleagues on code reviews, internal infrastructure improvements, and process improvements
Work closely with sibling teams to further improve quality and reliability of the services we provide
Explore and prototype new technical solutions, improve internal processes
Use cloud platforms on a big scale with geo distribution
Grow engineering culture and best practices; share knowledge and mentor other engineers
A good candidate has:
Ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and adopt solution from within the company or from the Open Source community
A positive, “can do” attitude and a desire to have an impact on changing the way people communicate
Good knowledge of OOP: development and design patterns
Knowledge of Internet/web technologies and protocols, REST and good practices of API design
3+ years of experience in developing complex, distributed systems in C++, C# or equivalent languages
Experience in multithreaded programming, asynchronous and event driven application design
Ability to work closely with team members to collaborate on innovative solutions; ability to work with minimal direction and is self-driven, pro-active and results-oriented
Solid written and oral communication skills (English is a must, other languages a plus)
An ideal candidate also has:
Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
Experience with SIP/VOIP; experience with RTP and media codecs
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Experience with SQL
Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum development practices
