Nolwenture was established in 2012 in Joensuu and has grown to over 20 software engineers, in 2020 we established a subsidiary in Singapore to serve customers in that region. Nolwenture has a strong presence in Eastern Finland adding a second office location in Kuopio in March 2021. The Senior Software Engineers in Nolwenture are responsible for supporting both client and internal projects, playing to the individual's strengths within the Scrum team, in the role of lead developer, Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master. As a developer you will work with modern technologies that are kept current by the entire team contributions, to keep our best practises current and ahead of the game. You will also support mid-level, junior and trainee level team members with their project tasks and broader learning and development. For even more experienced and skilled candidates we also offer Architect level appointments.
Currently we encourage remote work, however going forward ideally you will work on a frequent basis from our headquarters in Joensuu, with longer term flexible location possibilities such as working alongside our team in Kuopio, from our partner premises such as in Helsinki or to continue to work remotely from home. It is also highly possible at some stage you will be assigned to work at our client's premises as it is common for us to occasionally augment our client's teams.
Nolwenture's operating language is English. As a Full Stack developer you will at least have a desire to work on both web and mobile applications. We work with a variety of programming languages but commonly a JavaScript background will suit us well, as we are using a lot of NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native. But also Swift, Kotlin, Python etc. get thrown into the mix when needed. Overall we just want you to have a strong understanding about software development and willingness to learn new stuff and challenge yourself. Familiarity with or willingness to adopt Scrum project methodology, and our tools within the Atlassian suite; Jira, Tempo, Confluence and to communicate through Slack and conference calls. An interest or experience in AI/ML will be highly appreciated. We expect compliance with our documentation processes and best practises such as continuous integration and automated testing, code reviews, use of pull requests and most importantly willingness to ask help from others and return help where needed.
