Job offer description

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Berlin, Dalia develops B2B/SaaS solutions to facilitate market and opinion research in >100 countries. We harness the app economy and advanced data science to distribute millions of micro-surveys worldwide to gather and analyze real-time data on consumer attitudes, public opinion, and market trends. Backed by some of Europe’s leading venture capital firms, Dalia is one of Germany’s fastest-growing tech startups with a team from 29 different countries driven by one mission: to generate information that helps us better understand the world around us.

  • Ultimately, you will have a one of a kind opportunity to work on the tools and technologies which enable organisations around the world to make better data-driven decisions.

Your challenge:

  • Take full ownership of the Python-based codebase for all machine learning models and analytics-driven solutions.
  • Become the internal expert on all things Python, working shoulder to shoulder with our Data
  • Scientists and Data Analysts, plus our Business Intelligence, Engineering, DevOps, Researchers and Analysts when needed.
  • Deliver clean, maintainable and error-proof code with good test coverage. Write test automation, conduct code reviews, and take end-to-end ownership, from development to production.
  • Design the architecture with the goal of making our codebase better, faster, and scalable.

Your profile includes:

  • Over 5 years of software development experience within a professional setting.
  • Proven expertise with Python.
  • Any experience with scikit-learn, pymc3, theano, pandas, numpy, jupyter, falcon and django is a plus.

  • Strong experience in DB Design, SQL queries and optimisation.
  • Great Object Oriented coding practices, including strong design pattern knowledge, Refactoring, Clean Code, Domain Driven Design and Encapsulation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience with AWS Services.
  • Experience with Docker/Containers.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong inner drive to get things done: you are able to work autonomously without micro-management and possess the self-motivation and inner drive to set and deliver against tight deadlines.

Dalia Research is committed to providing a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who works here or with us, regardless of their gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion (or lack thereof).
