Within the SHEQ team we want to develop a knowledge centre for measuring technology applied or to be applied in our mechanical manufacturing environment. Therefore we have a vacancy for a senior project engineer (specialist measuring-technology). Your customers are product development, process development and production (each with different questions). Specific tasks: ·

As a specialist with in depth competence in measuring technology related to mechanical manufacturing processes (from manual measuring tools over CMM to dedicated measuring tools for special applications) you will:

o Evaluate current measurement set—up’s and make improvement proposals

o Propose for difficult and new request a suited measuring strategy or measuring device.

o Xplore the full scoop of measuring technology and come with proposals (technical and economical) for new set-ups (can be for running production or for new product- or process developments. You built the business case of your proposed investments, and defend them towards the management team.

o · From this position you will work in close connection with o the product development organization, (you need to define reliable measurements with key-data related to the performance of the airend)

o The process development department (you need to define reliable measurements for the above mentioned key-data related to manufacturing process).

o The production organization (the used or proposed technology must be benefical for our operators to control their processes)

· Your job has a high variability, mostly you are involved in 3 - 5 projects, and in the mean while you are supporting the current manufacturing.

· Based in Wilrijk you follow the "copy" processes in the foreign manufacturing sites together with the local engineers and advise them.

Profile:

Education

· You have at least a bachelor degree or equivalent experience 

· You have 3 -5 years’ experience exploring different measuring technologies. 

· Knowledge of our products / processes and logistics systems are an added advantage.

Personality

· You are specialist or willing to develop the in depth competence in measuring technology related to mechanical manufacturing processes (from manual measuring tools over CMM to dedicated measuring tools for special applications). 

· Experience in programming advanced measuring systems s.a. a CMM is an additional advantage. Advanced measuring system fo example for different applications (rotors / impellers / casings / gears / …) 

· You have a natural focus on providing solutions (based upon internally available technology), but you also have strong networking skills, to search or find external solutions. 

· You are passionate about technology and follow the technological evolutions. 

· You are driven by technology. 

· You are result driven, very communicative and born innovator. 

· You have an analytical ability and a healthy dose of creativity 

· You are a fluent communicator and a team player that can motivate people to work with new processes. 

· ERP , MES , MIS are familiar concepts for you 

· You master the necessary IT tools such as MS Office , Outlook 

· You have a broad interest in quality, safety, environment, ergonomics and business aspects. 

· Language skills are important (English is a minimum, German and French are an advantage). 

· You are willing to make foreign travels
