If so, this could be your opportunity to become Senior Mechanical Engineer in Maersk Drilling, where you will work with state-of-the art equipment, have wide responsibility and get to know the industry inside out. We Offer You will be part of General Engineering in the Technical Organisation of Maersk Drilling. We are 60 highly skilled Engineers, situated all over the world, who are dedicated to supporting our rigs, newbuildings and modifications of units. You can anticipate a highly dynamic and professional environment, where you and your colleagues continuously participate in projects that vary in size and complexity, of which some last 1-3 years and others are completed on a day-to-day basis. As the department functions as a sourcing pool, you can foresee a job with great variation and opportunities for personal and professional development. You will undoubtedly build an immense international surface of contact, and you should anticipate between 30-90 travel days to destinations all over the world, including our facilities in Singapore, Korea and the US. Key Responsibilities You will drive and participate in different projects, e.g. on the development and supply of systems for newbuildings and the modifying and upgrading of existing units. As such, you will also contribute to describing systems in a clear and concise way enabling our suppliers to deliver on the detailed requirements. In detail, you will contribute to: •defining the scope for certain fields of activities within a project •the modification, overhaul and repair of units during yard stays •the installation of new equipment aboard existing units •supplying new buildings with proper systems, e.g. rotating equipment, diesel engines, pump units and HVAC equipment Overall, you will focus on ensuring that the design meets the contractual requirements and complies with the regulations and standards for the area, which requires that you keep yourself updated on the regulations. We will make sure to provide you with necessary knowledge in relevant areas, including insight into the designing of drilling systems and other relevant equipment. Who we are looking for You hold a degree in Engineering and a track record displaying at least 6 years’ relevant experience from a shipyard, the offshore or a related industry. If your career has given you knowledge of systems for cooling water, lubrication oil or piping, it will be an advantage – as will experience of HVAC systems. Your sense of quality is unmistakeably strong, and you are highly self-driven and structured in your work. To achieve success, you must also know your own limitations and value sparring with colleagues on challenges that exceed your area of expertise. In this respect, you need to be a strong team player and have a curious mindset as you continuously seek to refine and develop your skills further. Your papers are in order in relation to travelling on short notice, and having a flexible mindset, you are comfortable not always knowing the exact duration of your projects.
