ML Legal is located at the headquarters of Maersk Line in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Corporate and Commercial Law team is a section in ML Legal consisting of 3 people providing legal support to Maersk’s liner business worldwide (Maersk Line, Safmarine, SeaLand, Seago Line and MCC Transport) within M&A, corporate law and commercial contracts.
As part of our team you will be working with your colleagues to reinforce and develop the team as a strategic partner for the business functions in Maersk’s liner business, and you will be part of a larger international legal department of experienced, specialized and dynamic lawyers with a strong focus on knowledge-sharing and sparring.


Key Responsibilities

As part of the Corporate and Commercial Law team you will provide daily legal assistance to various functions across the business by responding to queries of a legal nature from the business.
This includes:
• Drafting, negotiation and dispute resolution in relation to suppplier contracts such as terminal contracts.

• Participating in M&A projects, including due diligence.

• Drafting, review and advising on corporate law matters.

• Support to various projects and initiatives and ensure legal implications are considered and accounted for in develop-ing new strategies, policies and products.

• Enhance legal awareness and governance by way of producing templates, tools, training material and can conduct training as needed.

As part of a truly global organisation some travel activity should be expected.


Who we are looking for

You have a background in private practice and/or as an internal legal counsel and have significant experience with corporate law as well as negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. You further have experience with M&A, maritime law and/or English law contracts.
You have a collaborative mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills and a service minded approach.

You are methodical and thorough and have an ability to keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment with a great variety of tasks. You are characterized by having a high integrity and personal credibility.

You are self-motivated and able to work in a small team while interfacing with a wide range of people. You can stand by your decisions even when challenged, while keeping an open mind. You are attentive to details and have a structured approach to your work tasks.

As most work is conducted in English, an excellent command of written and spoken English is a prerequisite.
