Copenhagen Local / International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-057291 Maersk Oil is looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineering specialist for the department of GPD (Global Production Development) at its head office in Copenhagen. GPD is responsible for field development planning and Business Development support to strengthen Maersk Oil’s global portfolio. Currently operated and producing fields are in the North Sea, Qatar, Brazil, Algeria, Kurdistan and Kazakhstan, with business development activity and other interests around the globe. We Offer The working location is Copenhagen with occasional travel to other locations as necessary for the job. The job title will be Senior or Lead Reservoir Engineer, depending on the successful candidate’s level of experience The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly varied portfolio of technical challenges covering the spectrum from tight and structurally complex, fractured carbonates, to high permeability deep water and shallow marine siliciclastic reservoirs. The position will provide extensive exposure to new technology and workflows, as well as, continuous opportunities for learning and development with respect to effective stakeholder and partner involvement. Key Responsibilities •The Reservoir Engineer will provide depletion studies to support field development planning, evaluation of new opportunities, appraisal planning and development drilling. The Reservoir Engineer may also be expected to participate in farm-in and acquisition opportunities, as well as internal peer reviews and forums. •10+ years industry experience with significant exposure to development and production •Experience influencing partners in a non-operator role •Identification of key uncertainties and mitigation options •Creatively optimize design concepts to economically unlock resources to increase reserves •Develop production forecasts by creation and maintenance of a dynamic reservoir model •Help identify new opportunities •Participate in and perform reserves and resource evaluations consistent with corporate guidelines •Liaising with partners •Provide presentations and status updates to management, partners etc. Who we are looking for •BSc. level or higher in a relevant academic discipline. •Seven or more years of experience in upstream E&P in multidisciplinary environments. •Candidates should demonstrate recent in-depth experience of at least 2 years of reservoir simulation, preferably directly related to field development. •Understanding and application of awareness of the roles of and uncertainties in the other disciplines in integrated development teams and how to express those in the Reservoir Engineer’s products. •Familiarity with all aspects of classical reservoir engineering. •Familiarity with project economics, value of information and critical uncertainties. •Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills. •Fluency in written and spoken technical English. •In addition to the above requirements, the following would be desirable elements in the candidate’s CV: •Experience with data rooms and evaluation of acquisition opportunities •Ability to define the scope and scale of the reservoir engineering part of an integrated study, depending on its aims. •Hands-on knowledge of Eclipse, Petrel-RE, and PetroVR •Track record in mentoring and the effective sharing of knowledge to strengthen the Maersk corporate knowledge base. •Experience in reservoir surveillance and production optimisation. •Experience with modern techniques like Experimental Design for the handling of uncertainties.
