2 Purpose of the function:

Navitec Marine Services was founded in 1979 as an independent industrial workshop specialized in general ship repairs. As we are permanently and exclusively active in the day to day business of shipping, we can ensure the best possible services for our customers. In our workshop we are fully equipped for all ship repairs. This is also the starting point for our roadside assistance team. For our interventions we have a fleet of more than 20 vehicles (cars, vans, trucks and mobile cranes). Operating from the heart of Antwerp, Navitec offers repairs and technical assistance to seagoing vessels. We are committed to providing our clients with a competent service in any situation. Our vacancy of a senior ships electrician is in connection to an imminent retirement of our senior ships electrician

3 Job description:

- The preferred candidate has ample experience in analyzing electrical troubles and breakdowns on board of sea-going ships electrical systems. Trouble shooting, reporting and formulating solutions to our client is your natural habitat. You are able to analyze electrical problems as well with electrical schemes as without an electrical scheme. Also repairing small mechanical problems is your second nature,

- Flexibility in working hours will be required as our clients their vessels always have a tight schedule in port and waiting times must be minimized as much as possible,

- The preferred candidate is able to advise clients representatives, vessels superintendent as well as vessels crew in a professional manner. This as well as verbal as in writing,

4 Qualifications and experience:

- You have successfully completed an education in electricity and are familiar with low as well as high voltage. Additional education in electronics are a pro,

- A minimum of 5 year relevant experience,

- Being familiar with vessels electricity is a pro,

- As many of our jobs are in ports such as Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Ghent, Rotterdam and Dunkerque a driving license is basic requirement.

5 Competencies and skills:

- You have a strong safety mindset and you are able to asses risks as well as taking required safety precautions for your personal safety as for other persons involved,

- Good knowledge of English is a must,

- You must be able to work in a team as well as autonomously,

- Hands-on mentality,

- Being flexible both in working hours as job-related,

- Cultural awareness.
