We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer, DevOps to our newly established Intelligent Controls team. Intelligent Controls is part of our new Power Systems & Control function and is responsible for developing the solutions and technologies needed to enable autonomous plants and power systems and for enabling a data driven business.



In this role your main responsibility is to enable our data collection and intelligence platform, GEMS, and play a key role towards continuous value delivery. This is a newly established role. The location is preferably a Wärtsilä office in Europe.



Responsibilities

  • Develop and configure deployment of GEMS platform for thermal based and hybrid power plants base solutions and projects
  • Develop and manage the configure-to-order process of GEMS as part of the Electrical & Automation base solutions
  • Participate in development of cloud back-end GEMS product for thermal plants
  • Participate in the development of our streaming data platform, pipelines, databases and APIs
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, reaching from R&D to sales
  • Implement Cyber Security, IEC-62443, requirements on selected products - proactive planning of future needs
  • Participate in building up continuous integration and deployment infrastructure of future solutions
  • Participate in providing tools for data visualization and handling
  • Support and troubleshoot existing solutions
  • Present new products & solutions to internal audiences
  • Provide support and training to sales and projects
  • Proactively connect with customers and listen to feedback
  • Drive Wärtsilä’s Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä’s Value

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science with at least 2 years of relevant experience with DevOps activities.
  • You have experience in solutions and technologies of connectivity solutions
  • You have experience with AWS, Google Cloud services including infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • You are experienced with containerized solutions such as Docker as well as cluster setups such as Kubernetes
  • You have good Python and Java knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as Bash
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and toolsets such as Jira and Git
  • Experience with continuous development and deployment technologies
  • Experience with automated testing on different levels is seen as a plus
  • Experience with Timeseries and noSQL databases is seen as a plus
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and challenge conventional ways of working
  • Strategic mindset and scenario work, seeing the big picture and plan for the future
  • Knowledge in electrical concepts, power grids, is seen as a plus.
  • Good analytical skills, as well as creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning and execution skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
