We are hiring Safari Guides and Husky guides for winter season 2018 – 2019 for Lapland Safaris destinations.

As a Safari Guide, you will be guiding Finnish and foreign tourist groups. On a safari, you might for example be driving a snowmobile, hiking on cross-country skis or snowshoes, or ice-fishing. A working day consists of various tasks involving outdoor activities in the beautiful Lappish nature, including the preparation and operating of the safari and different kind of maintenance work.

As a Husky Guide you will be guiding sledge dog safaris, preparing and disenmantiling safaris. A working day can consists of customer service at the farm and in the wilderness and cooking for customers out in the nature. The environment is international so fluent English is required. Work includes also tending and feeding the dogs.

We expect from our guides to be outgoing, positive persons with good operating and customer skills. Safari Guides work in an international environment, so good oral skills in English are essential and other language skills (French/Spanish/German) are advantageous. Previous experience as a safari guide, First aid skills and driving license are required. Hygiene passport and regional knowledge are advantageous.

Before the start of the actual work, Lapland Safaris organizes Arctic Hospitality Guide training for the new guides. The training is part of the Arctic Hospitality Academy and is cooperated by Lapland Safaris, Lapland Hotels and local schools in tourism. Training includes learning the required guiding and communication skills as well as driving a snowmobile. Knowledge, skills and security are the main principles of the training. Training language is English.

Employees will also be briefed to each task in the beginning of the employment.

The employmentship  is fixed-term and will start in November 2018 and will endure until March 2019. There are even shorter-term posts available. We help our employees to find an accommodation in shared apartments, with a reasonable monthly rent.
