Orwell Healthcare, invites suitable applicants for the post of Registered General Nurse (Staff Nurse) in our Care of the Elderly services. This is an excellent opportunity to develop within our organisation.

The Staff Nurse shares responsibility with the nursing team for maintaining a high standard of nursing care under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing. They will at all times maintain a high standard of professional and ethical responsibility and continuously develop their clinical expertise, leadership and teaching skills through nursing practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and Health, Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).

 

Responsibilities of the Registered General Nurse:

  • Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to residents within the guidelines specified by the NMBI and HIQA.
  • Assist in the management and care of residents, with particular focus on Orwell Healthcare policies and procedures and the Health Information and Quality Authority standards.
  • To maintain a high level of professional integrity and clinical practice in accordance with the code of Professional Conduct for Nurses as prescribed by Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland.
  • To demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with other disciplines within and outside of the organisation.

Job requirements
  • Be registered on the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). 
  • Be flexible in relation to their work pattern and assigned unit of care. 
  • Have a clear, open and friendly communication style with the ability to respond quickly and appropriately across a variety of situations. 
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Have proven clinical experience, a clear commitment to person-centred care, and strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Have fluent spoken and written English
