Catalyst Systems is a product line in Power Supply business line. We are developing, managing and delivering world class emission control solutions for Wärtsilä engines.



We are looking for a Product Expert/Engineer to join our Products team. The title can be agreed together with the candidate based on prior experience and seniority.



Qualified candidates will be responsible for keeping our external and internal customers satisfied by ensuring that our products are operational in the field.



The successful candidate will be working in a flexible and relatively small team with a growing business and product portfolio. With this position we offer a suitable mixture of office work and some travelling.



The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team (e.g. with R&D and Technology experts in Catalyst Systems). The candidate should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and business line go through substantial growth. Location:



Preferred location for this position is in Finland (Vaasa, Turku, Helsinki). Please note that relocations costs and/or immigration support is not available for this position.



Responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to expert on Wärtsilä selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR) globally, with specific focus on Power Plant SCR’s and PLC/UNIC Automation.
  • Provide back office support to Wärtsilä delivery projects, warranty departments and service network personnel on power plant and marine installations.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment or equipment family (limited to SCR related equipment like: pumps, valves, emission analysers, sensors, automation etc.).
  • Report the findings and suggest product improvements internally.
  • Execute SCR system commissioning in complex power plant installations.
  • Interact with internal and external customers during the work execution.
  • Provide product training to Wärtsilä service network engineers.
  • Participate in product management and development activities on request.

     

Expectations:

  • B.Sc., M.Sc. or higher in Electrical or Automation Engineering
  • Solid PLC/UNIC knowledge and experience.
  • Basic knowledge in process and mechanical engineering
  • Good command of English, both oral and written.
  • Proactive, systematic, and organized way of working.
  • Good skills in communication and customer orientation
  • Good team working ability and skills.
  • Willingness to travel (During a time of the pandemic, Wärtsilä as an employer sees the safety and wellbeing of the employees important. Remote working is preferred in any cases where it is possible.)
  • Marine and/or power plant industry experience seen as a benefit.
  • Experience with SCR systems, other emission control solutions and/or engines seen as a benefit.
