As a planning engineer you assist both the commercial and operations department and business units by analyzing and giving input to the setup of the tender's schedules and planning, reporting and budget requirements covering all stages and packages of the project and search for improvement opportunities.
As a planning engineer you...
- Are able to work out a professional project planning and timing independently on the basis of the information provided by the project team;
- Are actively involved and make proposals to optimize the planning and programming of tenders and projects.
- Understand the importance of good planning and reports any problems (qualifications / risk assessment);
- Have or are prepared to intensive training to achieve a thorough knowledge of the standard planning programs (MS Projects, Primavera, etc.);
- Can explain the data from the planning program to the project team and the Client/Employer;
- Keep to the given set of deadlines;
- Monitor and administer the achieved progress and project status by comparing project execution with the Project's Master schedule by setting up and using commodity / resource based progress reporting tool;
- Anticipate on detrimental project related problems, identify and report risk and imminent threats and discuss proposals to mitigate and minimize risk and maximize opportunities;
- Identify and link interfaces between different packages arising from the schedule. Work closely with the interface team;
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports towards the employer according to the contract;
- Review and modify the Project Master Schedule and coordinate any changes with the involved parties;
- Inform all relevant stakeholders on the achieved progress in relation to the Master Planning and on the consequences of the current status using relevant dashboards;
- Report to the Tender Manager / Project Controls Manager.
As a Planning Engineer you...
- Hold a degree in Engineering or have relevant experience;
- Are able to communicate at several levels;
- Are analytical and are able to work accurately
- Are an experienced user of the most common MS Office applications. Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project and Primavera are a must;
- Have experience in working with a planning and reporting regime/system for a complex project;
- Can express yourself fluently in spoken and written English. Dutch is an added value;
