Pig farm Manager (sows)

A large player in the Belgian pig farming industry is looking for 3 experienced pig farm managers.

Each pig farm manager would be responsible for an entire pig farming company. The companies are not very big, each company counts 150 to 500 pigs.

For the smaller companies they have work for one person, for the bigger companies they have work for 1,5 persons (couple where 1 person works full time and 1 person works half time)

They can live at the company in a big house (4 bedrooms – no furniture) and they only pay around 125€ - 150€ a month to live there, the cost for water, electricity and heating is charged seperately. Every company has a house.

They will be paid a monthly salary because they work alone and some days it will be more busy then others and it’s not possible to keep track of the amount of hours they work daily.

Every company has got a budget, so the salary depends on how big the company is and on the experience of the candidates.

For example a couple (1,5 persons) can earn  3000€ gross/month together and a person alone between 2200€ up to 2600€ (in a big company with a lot of experience).

Because they’re alone at the company it’s important that they have experience with pigs.They’ll have to do everything : feed the pigs, give medication, inseminate,…

They’ll have to be very responsable, check in on the pigs during weekends and evenings, really take care of the animals.

Ideal profiles are candidates that have a background in farming, animal care,... Speak Ductch, German or French.

The company needs references and might ask good candidates to come over a couple of days to work on the company to see how they do it.

All pig farming companies are located in West -Flanders.
